Detroit Police have said when an officer entered the home on Lillibridge, he encountered the child’s grandmother. Officers believe there was some sort of physical altercation between the officer and the woman, and the officer’s gun accidentally fired. During the news conference, Fieger says he viewed video Monday morning that he says shows officers on the porch of the home. He says the video shows the use of a flash grenade while a gun was fired from the porch at the same time. He says the video proves there was no scuffle between the grandmother and police officers. Fieger says a videographer came to his office with an attorney and showed him the tape. He says he was able to view the tape, but was not given a copy. He says he would show it to the public, if he could get his hands on a copy. He says he hopes the videotape doesn’t disappear, suggesting that Detroit Police would hold back the tape claiming it was evidence. When talking about the videotape, Fieger says officers took Aiyana out of the house like a “rag doll.” Little Aiyana Jones was asleep on the couch when she was reportedly hit and killed during a search for a murder suspect.
