wow, I’ll have to look into this more. When i read a first news report on it this morning it indicated that the alleged suspect in the earlier shooting of the 17 year old was taken into custody at the scene. Not that that in any way mitigates what happened here when they could have just waited the guy out if there was kids in the premises, but it is crazy that hte media picked up the story that an arrest was made if that in fact didn’t happen.

 yeah… the news has reported a cleaned up and semi-truth version of events. they news reported that the grandmother attacked the police, even though that was not what happened (and even if it was, if you break into my house in the middle of the night, i’m gonna attack you too!). they claim they didn’t know there were children there - even though their toys were all over the yard and an eyewitness from the neighborhood was yelling to them that there were kids in there. yes, there was a suspect - in the upstairs apartment, which is NOT the apartment that the police threw an incendiary device thru the window of. NOT the apartment that the police busted down the door of. NOT the apartment that, understandably at 12:30am, had a grandmother and little children inside. This is not about “waiting a guy out” - THEY WENT TO THE WRONG PLACE. and then used excessive, zealous force, possibly for the purpose of looking good on camera. whether the alleged suspect was eventually found and arrested is sorta beside the point now, isn’t it?

ETA: let me take that one step further… of course the media reported that the suspect was caught. because that’s what people wanna hear, isn’t it? as long as the suspect was caught, that makes the rest of it just “collateral damage”.
